Here to provide the care you deserve.
Who are we?
Where Hearts Speak, PLLC, is a private practice, with a mission to enhance mental, emotional, spiritual and physical well-being, by providing an environment where your heart can speak freely.
Why the heart?
The heart is a container that holds the origin of our life experiences, past and present. The effects of those experiences often inform the patterns exhibited in one’s behavior. The act of speaking one’s truth, in a carefully cultivated space, allows one to hear, see and feel in a way that supports the healing process. Over time, you might notice a desire to come out of hiding and live a more authentic life. This is the hope at WHS.
Our Approach
Using a holistic, collaborative, trauma-informed approach, our work together will consist of an in-depth exploration of where you are, how you arrived here and where you desire to go. From there, a combination of clinical training and your expertise—as it relates to your life experiences— will be used to create a plan that will guide you toward your goals. I believe much of how people show up in their life is connected to previous experiences. I also believe that the power to change is present and can be accessed when one’s own internal motivation is awakened. These two beliefs inform my tendency to ask about early experiences, which is associated with a psychodynamic informed approach. The use of questions, that encourage perspective taking, is consistent with a motivational interviewing stance.
Navigating Treatment
-
Beginning
You will begin your time at WHS with a consultation. The type of service requested will determine the length of our conversation.
-
Middle
Once the type of support has been identified, an initial intake will be scheduled. As with the consultation, the intake length and information obtained, will be based on the type of service. For therapy, medication management or Ketamine support, the session will last about 90 minutes. For coaching, the session will be about 60 minutes.
-
Maintenance
After the initial, in-depth, information gathering session, the remainder of your time at WHS will consist of a series of follow up sessions, between 30-60 min in length. The frequency of these sessions will be based on goals, recommendations and overall progress. At any point during the treatment, the plan can and will likely change.
